Richard Liu Qiangdong is the owner of one of the largest e-commerce platforms in China. He founded JD.com in 2004. At the time, it offered a few products including IT equipment, digital electronics and mobile phones. It later grew rapidly and by 2010, it had almost everything. Richard Liu came a long way to start the platform that has established a footprint in China as an online shopping destination.
Richard Liu thought of business ideas that could materialize and supplement the income of his family while in college. He was unable to advance his studies then because of financial challenges. His grandmother was sick and needed medical care. All those circumstances pushed him into business and while on it, he started a restaurant which did not pick up. He later founded a computer accessory shop that grew to control 12 shops.
A sars epidemic pushed Richard Liu Qiangdong out of business. He later started selling items online when e-commerce was still chaotic. He offered genuine and authenticated products. It took hard work for the business to grow into a titan it is today. Mr. Qiangdong went to school with hard-working colleagues and according to him, they are now all successful.
The success of the business made Richard Liu to be enlisted as one of the richest individuals in China with a net worth of $11 billion. The business is valuated at over $60 billion. However, he does not regard his financial achievements as his greatest achievement. His family comes first and he is lucky to have almost all his members of extended family alive. The businessman is always striving to be the best husband, father, sibling and son.
Richard Liu Qiangdong aims to bring the best products in the world to China through JD.com. He also plans to expand the online shopping platform to be the largest in the world. Plans are underway to expand the company to South Asia, Middle East and then to the United States.
JD.com is now an online shopping destination for people from all corners of China. He seeks to increase its presence in China further. It is dedicated to provide timely deliveries to customers in all-over China and beyond. Currently, it can do deliveries in 3 hours in Beijing. In all other places in China, JD.com does deliveries in just six hours.

OPSkins is an online store which provides video game assets to their users. Malcolm CasSelle is one of the top people at the company, serving as its CIO. OPSkins makes it possible for video game players to have a trustworthy place to trade buy digital assets. Items like gun skins, knife skins, and clothing skins are available on OPSkins. Games like PUBG and H1Z1 are all supported at the shop.
OPSkins is similar to a standard store. However, the people at OPSkins have created WAX, a decentralized platform to encourage even more digital asset trading. WAX differs from OPSkin in a few different ways. For one, instead of WAX itself being a store, it is a platform for users to trade with each other. A user is able to set up shop on WAX and use the platform to sell their goods.
WAX is made safe due to blockchain technology. This method of security uses several different machines to store records on. This means it is nearly impossible for a single user to forge records and defraud others.
While other people are attempting to use blockchain technology for mainstream uses, like banking and physical sales, OPSkins and Malcolm CasSelle recognize that cryptocurrency is perfect for video game users. They are accustomed to dealing with digital currency anyway, so why not create a digital currency for them that actually means something?
Users are able to exchange their real life currency for WAX tokens. This means that the issue of exchanging currencies is almost completely done away with. Once a purchase is completed, a user can choose to convert their payment back to real cash or use their WAX tokens to purchase other digital assets. Malcolm CasSelle even hopes to have non video game players use WAX. There are niche uses for things like WAX, and it is a market that hasn’t been effectively provided for.
Ryan Seacrest’s work on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” is going well for both Ryan Seacreast and Kelly Ripa. After the summer break, both hosts returned seeming eager to be back. There was plenty of excitement about plans for the upcoming season including guests, celebrities, musicians and fun segments for the hosts.
Over the summer break, Ryan Seacrest admitted to taking more days off than he ever has before. Considering his on-going projects, this is particularly striking. While Ryan Seacrest is probably most well known as the host of the mega-hit show “American Idol”, he also has hosted his popular radio show “On Air with Ryan” since 2008. In 2010 he established the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which currently has a presence at nine different children’s hospitals around the country. He started his own fashion line of men’s suits and dress wear in 2014, called Ryan Seacrest Distinction. In 2017, he cofounded Polished, a skin care line for men.
Much of the excitement this week was due to Record Breaker Week, where the show teams up with Guinness World Records and attempts to film real-time records being broken. The first attempt was “Most People Doing the ‘Floss’ Dance Move Simulation”. The record was successfully broken with 349 people dancing for a full minute. “Most Basketball Under-the-Leg Slam Dunks by a Team Using a Trampoline in One Minute” was broken with a total of 27. This was followed by “Tallest House of Cards in One Hour” with 26 stories built that could stand for 10 seconds.
One of the particularly entertaining attempts was “Fastest Time to Wrap a Person with Wrapping Paper” where Kelly Ripa was wrapping Ryan Seacrest. While not successful, it was quite amusing.
The show then hosted its own producer, Michael Gelman, who was honored with the record for “Most Morning Show Episodes Produced by an Individual” at 7,534 episodes.
Finally, Ripa and Seacrest (@ryanseacrest) are now scheduled to take on the current record holders for “Most Juice Extracted from Grapes by Treading in One Minute by a Team of Two” in a grape stomping contest.
In a society whereby gender stereotype is prevalent, women have always found it had to prosper in sever aspects of their lives, especially in business. However, this is not the case with Whitney Wolfe who has overcome several struggles to establish a leading dating app known as Bumble. The 28-year-old is Bumble’s founder, a company that is currently headquartered in Texas. Whitney Wolfe holds an international studies degree from Southern Methodist University. She got married to Michael Herd on 2nd September 2017 at Amalfi Coast.
In spite of having a lot of exposure to digital opportunities, it took some twists and turns before Wolfe established Bumble. Previously, she was Tinder’s co-founder but left the company on account of sexual harassment. After her departure, she wanted to create a social network for women which she would call Merci. Before she could implement this idea, Badoo’s CEO, Andreev offered her an opportunity to work in his company as the chief marketing officer which she turned down. Notably, Whitney Wolfe did not like the idea of working for a dating site neither did she want to establish something similar. However, Andreev’s persuasion and financial support saw Whitney Wolfe create Bumble.
Being that Badoo would provide the technical support for Bumble, it would possess 79% of the company while Whitney Wolfe would acquire 20%. Currently, Bumble has achieved most of its objectives and has more than 50 workers. The platforms such as Bumble Bizz have exposed people to career opportunities while Bumble BFF enables people to make friendships. One thing that can be learned from Whitney Wolfe is that the exchange of ideas among people facilitates the prosperity of a business. An observation from the offices in Texas shows that employees are given an environment to learn and grow together. They are not forced to sit behind their desks all day, and this has enabled Bumble to become a great employer.
Another lesson to take from Whitney Wolfe’s invention is that collaboration is critical. She attributes the success of Bumble to the partnership with Badoo which has provided not only technical support but also insights on running dating apps. A prove to show that this company is growing is the fact that Match wanted to acquire it at $450 million but the deal failed. However, Whitney Wolfe argues that she can only sell the company for the incorporation of new ideas but not for financial gain. She also admitted to wishing for collaboration between Bumble and Facebook which has the intentions of opening a dating site. Being that the company is only four and a half years old and has already created a good brand name, we should expect more from it soon.
Would you think that someone who did not graduate high school would be one of the top businessmen in America? Probably not, but in David Zalik’s case it is definitely true. The reason is because he is not only an incredible innovator but he was also a child prodigy who aced the SAT score at the ripe old age of 13. He immediately begin attending afternoon classes at Auburn where his father was a mathematics professor. He also soon realized when it was time for high school that he wanted to attend classes at Auburn full-time. When you look at his early history, it really comes as no surprise that he would grow up and become the incredibles innovator in business he is today.
Once David Zalik became a full-time student at Auburn, he didn’t immediately become an entrepreneur right away. He started his first business simply because he wanted to date the older female college students. He eventually sold the company, called Microtech, in his early twenties for a couple million dollars.
That was perhaps a harbinger of things to come for him, because his newest venture is called Greensky Credit. This financial technology company is built on a rather amazing premise: they Market their app to home remodeling contractors. After that, the home remodeling contractors are able to make quickly approved, unsecured loans to the homeowners they service.
In reality, the idea for Greensky is incredibly brilliant: these contractors market the loan to homeowners, but the contractors have to pay Greensky 6% for the privilege. Moreover, even though Greensky has to partner with fourteen megabanks, the banks also pay Greensky a 1% fee for the privilege. Do you realize the ramifications of this? There’s literally means that Greensky is making money from both the contractors and the banks! Home contractors love Greensky because it helps them expand their business, and these banks love Greensky because they get more deposits. Thus, they are more than happy to pay a small extra fee for Greensky’s services.
In a sense, Greensky Credit serves as another middleman to help homeowners pay contractors for house repairs. Greensky is not on the hook for any defaults, and the beauty of this program is that it is not limited to just highly expensive home renovations. Just to sum it up, David Zalik is not just a millionaire now. This innovative idea has made him America’s newest billionaire.
Dr. Mark McKenna is the creator of innovative aesthetic enhancement company, OVME. Just opened its doors in March of 2018 in Buckhead, Atlanta, OVME has produced many incredible results on patients since its start and word of mouth has showered the community and both women and men have flocked. The business offers both aesthetic enhancement treatment services and retail products through a system of on-the-call delivery Botox services similar to the concept of Uber. What a great and creative addition to the Atlanta community by Dr. Mark Mckenna.
Dr. Mark Mckenna has always had the drive to be an entrepreneur. His mom and dad were both entrepreneurs. His dad started his own medical practice and his mom started her own publishing company. So growing up, Dr. Mark McKenna always saw the possibility of making a success out of your own ideas and effort. After graduating with a medical degree from Tulsa University, he would work out of his dad’s practice, but he would also start his own real estate business in process, which his dad would help him on and they would take the business to a multi-million dollar worth. He would continue to build the business for advancement, time after time again, before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Dr. Mark McKenna would rebuild in Atlanta and start another business, a wellness center, he would start OVME. His drive to succeed as an entrepreneur was great and it served him well.
OVME is thriving very well in its beginning stages. Great skincare products, innovative aesthetic enhancement technology and house-call Botox services, a very unique business, unlike anything anyone has ever seen before. A large collection of services that helps patients become more comfortable in their own skin – face, body, health and skin services for both men and women, specifically speaking, Botox® and Dysport®; hair removal and weight loss; B-12 shots and hydration therapy; erectile dysfunctional medications and much more.
Cancer is one of the most dangerous and deadly diseases of all-time. This illness can manifest itself in the organs of the human body and spread throughout the body if left untreated. If the cancer isn’t treated or removed in a timely fashion, death is the general outcome. There are numerous high-level, cancer-research companies around the world, but the United States is home to one of the very best. This company is known as Seattle Genetics, and it is setting new benchmarks in cancer research. President and CEO Clay Siegall is the man of the hour, and he has been “the man” for quite some time.
When speaking on highly accomplished individuals, this guy stands at the forefront of the industry. Dr. Siegall has multiple medical degrees, has at least 15 patents under his belt and has brought about a new change in cancer research. In addition to that, this spectacular man has written over 70 medical-related publications. Yes, this is correct. Dr. Siegall started Seattle Genetics back in the late 1990s, but it wasn’t always a huge success. In its early stages, the company struggled mightily, and it didn’t really start to earn huge amounts of capital until 10 years after securing its IPO. It turned-out that Seattle Genetics was spending more than it was earning, which will pretty much give any business a huge setback. Dr. Siegall had to sit down and come-up with a new strategy. By implementing a sales staff, the company was able to dig itself from a huge hole. This staff would begin to secure multiple seven-figure deals.
Progressive thinking like this is why Seattle Genetics is at the pinnacle of the industry. It has one of the most popular cancer-fighting drugs of all-time, and it has many more advanced drugs in its pipeline. The future is looking mighty bright for cancer research as well as for cancer sufferers.
People fondly refer to Doe Deere as a “Unicorn Queen.” She’s just as majestic as one of these mythical creatures. People link Deere to unicorns and mysticism of sorts. They also link her to brilliant colors. No one admires color more than she does. The Russian-born lady had a decided All-American upbringing. This took place in bustling New York, New York. New York City affected her existence in a big way. She majored in fashion design while in the sizable metropolis. This paved the way for her stunning career as a Chief Executive Officer. She’s the founder of a well-known cosmetics business named Lime Crime. Deere is a great role model for people who love cool colors of all types. She’s also an inimitable role model for young women who want to carve out rewarding careers for themselves. She’s a female business leader who isn’t afraid to work hard. She’s not afraid to show other people what she can do. Deere created Lime Crime on the Internet in 2008. She had so many concepts that related to her business back at that time as well. No one can say that Deere is a person who lacks a vision. She aims to make her biggest desires come to fruition. She doesn’t like the idea of making cosmetic items that require the use of animal byproducts. That’s why Lime Crime is a vegan brand. People who don’t feel comfortable with makeup that involves animal components in any way can feel good about trying Lime Crime’s offerings. Lime Crime is more than vegan as well. It’s devoid of cruelty. There are many cosmetics brands in this world that rely on the assistance of animal testing. People who buy Lime Crime items don’t have to think about that at all.
Deere’s roots in the makeup community are straightforward. She’s always been an avid designer. She’s always been someone who cares about consistency and harmony, too. Not being able to find makeup products that could highlight her vivid fashion pieces well disturbed her. It made her have an epiphany as well. That epiphany was simply that she had to take matters into her own hands. If she waited around for a makeup brand that was going to make products that were as brilliant as she wanted, she’d be waiting around forever. This compelled her to make Lime Crime come to life. Makeup lovers the world over are so thrilled that she saw an opening in the cosmetics realm.
Deere respects people who have all kinds of styles and tastes. That doesn’t mean that she likes all makeup products herself, though. There are countless cosmetics companies that specialize in colors and tones that are decidedly subtle. That just isn’t Deere’s style. People who are in love with bright pinks, blues, yellows and more can go for Lime Crime. People who are in love with rainbows overall can do the same.
Most Americans regard most executives in the oil industry as people who are vain and greedy. However, Tony Petrello is an exception when it comes to such groupings. Contrary to what most people think of executives in the oil industry, most of them are recognized as a result of their philanthropic works, mostly in the Houston area. Even before Tony progressed with his career to become the CEO of Nabors Industries, he was well known as a person with a caring heart. His philanthropic works continued to develop; it was even boosted especially after the birth of his premature girl. Tony is an example of a CEO with a kind heart as well as generous attitude towards charitable institutions.
Tony Petrello has continued to help scientific research by providing funding to numerous scientists all over the country. Tony and his wife Cynthia have been driven by personal reasons to offer financial aid to researchers within the medical community, seeing their daughter eat breakfast every single day brings joy to this family; they count their blessings every single day. Unlike a majority of kids, Carena, their eight-year-old daughter, began chewing food for the first time last year.
Apart from holding the position of CEO of Nabors Industries, Tony is also a member of the Texas Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees. After realizing the difficult journey they have to endure with his wife after the birth of their daughter, they set their minds and resources towards finding a pediatrics institution that carries research that would be able to assist them. After several months of examining the medical researches, Tony came up with a very important conclusion, these children need more of transatlantic research, and this was missing in the brain research being carried out for children. Tony and his wife made a decision that Carena and kids who had the same condition are able to be taken care of and eventually be what they want to be in their lives. In partnership with Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital, Tony hopes that this dream will one day become a reality.
Tony continues to be a source of hope for parents whose children have the same disorder as Carena. Their family has dedicated their resources towards helping research institutes come up with a cure for the disorder. Their daughter continues to be a source of motivation for not only their family but also other people. The Petrello family believes that treatment is on the way.
